Soothing Strategy Shooting the Bow
This Tai Chi exercise is good for letting go of and releasing tension.
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Bend your knees and round your back slightly. Look straight ahead of you.
Make a fist with both palms and put them directly in front of your face. Your fingers should be facing you and the sides of your palms touching.
Pivot at the waist and turn to your left.
Extend your left hand in front of you and open up your palm facing out. Your right arm should move back as if shooting an arrow from a bow.
Say or imagine letting go of something. It might be an emotion. It may be something stressful that you have been holding on to. Say to yourself, âI let it go.â
Repeat as many times as needed.
